Schedule of Special Events


This year we are celebrating 200 years of Richfield and our 50th Anniversary of Richfield Dutch Days!!  
We have many activites and events planned and you've found the spot to learn all about what is in store!  
Let us all join together as we partake on a journey that spans 200 years of Richfield's vast history.  We are also rewinding back fifty years ago when the very first idea of an annual festival came to life with the 1968 Sesquicentennial Celebration and the true beginning of what became known as 'Richfield Dutch Days'.

This page will be updated frequently as we get closer to our big celebration week.  So, please be sure to check back for any additions or corrections.

Community Picnic and Outdoor Church Service

Attention!!  Due to inclement weather and wet conditons at the park............

The Communnity Picnic will be held in the Richfield Family Life Center at 5:30pm.
The Church Service will be held at 7pm in the Richfield Life Ministries Church!
Community Picnic
We are launching our celebration with a community picnic and all of Richfield is invited to attend!  

Please plan to join us in the commemoration of our great town.  The start time for the picnic is 5:30 p.m.  Please bring a covered dish to share. Place settings, napkins, and drinks are being provided by the Richfield Community Center.   

Outdoor Church Service
The Outdoor Church Service will follow at 7 p.m.  The theme for these years service will be "A Celebration of Church in our Community".  We will have an old-fashioned hymn sing and the singing of our official "Bicentennial Song" will be performed.  
Bring your lawn chair!!  



Starting Tuesday, July 17, 2018


That's Right!  We've added an extra day this year!!  
We are kicking off our first night one day earlier and have packed it full.  
We're calling it our "Commemoration Night!"   
A Celebration of all who have devoted their time and dedication to making Dutch Days come to life!  
We're also rewinding back over 200 years of our great little town on a Journey Through Time, with our Bicentennial bus tours to visit some of our greatest historical sites and learn more of our past settlers to this area.      

Also, be sure to register now for our contests!  Please join us on journey of reliving the past, having some fun, and winning some prizes, too!!  



Bicentennial Town Decorating Contest

Register for Town Decorating Contest by submitting the form to the right!

Who is Eligible? :    Richfield Town Residents and Businesses within a 1 mile radius of Main Street.  (Click map below)

Contest Rules:  Residents and Businesses decorate the exterior of their home or establishment with a bicentennial theme.  Can include lighting, scenery, and other decorative items in bicentennial theme or style.

Judging Guide Lines:  Originality- Unique design, Creative use of decorations, lighting, etc.  Arrangement- Display and placement of decorationsTheme- Overall Presentation

Judging will ill take place the week of July 1, 2018.  All registered participants must have their decorating completed no later than this date.  

Prizes:  Prizes will be awarded in two categories (Residential & Business) for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place.

Winners will be announced on our website at dutchdays.com and on our FaceBook page.  Winners agree to have their home or business photographed.

Bicentennial Fashion Show REWIND!!

Cake Walk Game!  Tuesday Night Only!!

Come join in on the fun as we bring back one of our orignial Dutch Days games!  

For those who might not be familiar with the game, here's the secret to a successful win:

1.  You'll stand with others in a cirlce.  The circle will contain squares of numbers along with a couple "not so numbered' squares (these are the ones to avoid!  More on this later.)
2.  The music will begin and you will parade around the circle with the others.  You can dance if you want to!!  
3.  When the music stops be sure, move to the nearest square to your feet.
4.  The caller will pull a number.  If you're standing on that number, great!  You've just won the prize!
5.  Oh, if you happen to land on one of those 'not so numbered" squares that we mentioned earlier, well, let's just say you'll need to play to find out.  Hey!  We can't give away all the game secrets, here!  :-)       

Time:  The Calk Walk Game will be open directly following the Fashion Show.
Cost:  $1.00 each round
Prizes:  All kinds of wonderfully homemade cakes and goodies!!


Bicentennial Bus Tours

Take a scenic tour of Richfield as we take you on a journey through our past.  We will make a few stops along the way at some of our more notable historic sites.  

Bus tours will be departing from the Parish House Wednesday through Saturday.  While you're waiting for your tour, be sure to visit the Parish house.  It will be filled with many items on display including several past Dutch Days 'Name" Quilts along with old photos and items from our past.  








 










Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday:  (5:00pm - 9pm)

Friday:  (5:00pm - 10pm)

Saturday:  (6:00pm - 7:45pm)

Drawings begin  @ 8:00pm

Also accepting donated items for Food and/or Pet Pantry!

In celebration of our 50th Anniversary and Richfield Bicentennial, we are hoping you will join us for our biggest parade to date!  

Prizes Awarded in many categories including:  Antique Cars, General Floats, Religious Floats, Groups, Individuals, Classic Cars, Sport Rods,Farm Equipment, Horses, Advertising

Special Theme category for this year is "A Bicentennial Celebration- Best in Theme."  All registered entries are automatically entered in this category for a chance to win some extra $$$$!!  
So, show us what you got!  Deck your float, car, farm eqipment, or even yourselves in Bicentennial fashion for a chance to be selected for 1st place prize of $100 for best in Bicentennial Theme! (also awarding $75 for 2nd place and $50 for 3rd place, too!)

New this year!!  Participants can now save time and preregister for the parade by filling out and submitting the form to the right.   All participants who preregister must pick up their number at the registration booth prior to the start of the parade.  

As always, you can still register on the day of the parade, too.  Registration will be from 2:00pm - 3:30pm
